Hachijojima History and Folk Museum
Hachijojima History and Folk Museum, which was temporarily closed on March 31, 2018 due to the building’s safety issue, has been relocated and re-opened at the exhibition hall in the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Hachijo Island Branch Office. The museum exhibition includes stone artifacts and earthenware from the prehistoric age, daily tools used by the island’s residents, ancient documents, and documents about the history of penal transportation and local folklore.
